My play tv tuner was working like a dream but did a few reboots yesterday, trying to mount a HDD and at the end my play tv tuner was no red light. I tried in a pc and a different cable.

Is there a reset function? or has it packed in?

What box/image you using it in? Any image featuring the vu+ drivers from 03/09 no longer allow playtv to work

its a uno and used the db0700 drivers for over 2 weeks and it worked like a dream but I was tinkering yesterday trying to add a hdd, so did a few reboots , changed image etc and eventually noticed it was dead. I think I should have unpligged it while doing updates but its secondhand as well so could be a coincidence. It can be fixed apparently if I had the PS3 which I dont. I will take it back tomorrow.

Using openatv version 3 but still using a small tv so menu writing is tiny! I gave up on the internal hdd so opted for a usb hdd and when plugged in it does everything automatically. So good to go. I should have got the twin tuner from the outset. Still learning.

    USB DVB-T sticks and Vu+ = Blackhole.

I have an Uno. Trust me I have tried every image known to man and then used telnet to install the drivers and dependencies/ftp'd to fw directories and it still dosnt work.

Only Blackhole works with USB DVB-T out of the box, no messing. I went back to Blackhole having went to Vix as their Blindscan actually works and epg is excellent. But Vix is terrible for USB DVB-T. The feeds for DVB-T dont work as kernel module dependencies are not there.

Put Blackhole on, it will work out of the box. You can change the Skin to suit your small TV. I can PM you the TSpanel IPK for your CCAm etc.

The twin tuner for the Uno is 2 x dvb-s2.

stb are are referring to the internal HDD or that usb dtt thingy? I could not get that hdd to work properly and I asked it to initialise the hdd and it ruined it. I cant even acces the hdd on an xp pc. It was a maxtor 300gb from a thomson box.

Is there a special hdd that works internally? I am thinking of getting the twin tuner form WOS.

That play tv worked for over 2 weeks, are you saying it died but it was not my doing?

I am messing with the usb hdd 500gb now and recorded a few progs but it did came up disk full!! What format does that uno accept?

i'll try blackhole after the footie and I think I have Tspanel unless it has been updated?

    gbc

I presume you are getting the twin tuner so that you can record one satellite channel and watch another satellite channel.

According to Irishchris above playTV the USB DVB-T device doesnt work with images from 3/9. Presumably this is images based on OpenPLI/Vix etc.

The latest Blackhole is pre that date anyhow. I was talking about the USB DVB-T devices and other images. Blackhole are the only image that have their sh1t together with USB devices because of that angelofsky coder on vucommunity - they recognise the device straight off.

Your HDD problem. Is it mounted under devices ?

You can have the drive formatted in FAT and it should read it fine. The UNO accepts any 2.5 or 3.5 drive.

If it seems dead just get a sata to USB cable and connect it to your PC/laptop to troubleshoot. My experience is once the drive is initialised and mounted, it should work fine. If the drive fails it will effect the image loaded as it is trying to load it whilst booting. I have had drives that were fecked that worked initially and then failed. I had to take it back out to get the image working again.

Blow me the play tv is working again!! I have tspanel loaded, download oscam, did my config etc,

I had a usb hdd working with uno initially. then had the bright idea of putting a 300gb hdd from a thomson box internally. I had 2 boxes!! So the first hdd would not mount, reflashed image etc to no avail. then loaded 2nd hdd but this time I formatted in pc and I think I chose nsfs. It loaded staright away and worked for a bit but then I got disk full error. I then decided to initialise HDD with the uno , it timed out. Then decided to try format, got green screen. gave up.

I want to use it as a twin tuner but hooked to a motorised dish. I have loaded a channel listing and its huge. But got 28 working on fta.

thanks for that sata idea, which cable do I buy??

Glad to say playtv is now working perfect on vix from build 740. It was an issue with all images using vu+ drivers from 03/09 as in adding transcoding ability to usb tuners they also broke the driver for some like dib0700. New drivers by vu+ to fix this from yesterday included in vix build 740 now work a charm.simply install dib0700 under drivers in plugin menu and on restart you will have two extra dvbt tuners :-)
