Day's Log

So I've decided to start a log on here.

    My Subjects

    Maths (H)
    Applied Maths (H)
    Physics (H)
    Chemistry (H)
    Accounting (H)
    French (H)
    Irish (O)
    English (O)

So as you can see I like Maths and Science. I hate Irish with a passion, since Junior Infants in fact :P. I am capable of doing higher level English if I put in the work but due to my brilliance (:pac:) I have decided not to even try as I know I won't put in enough work, and putting in any effort and drop down after the mocks to Ordinary level would be a huge waste of study time. So that time will be better spent elsewhere.

    My aims:
    Subject|Aim|Will Be Happy With
    Maths| A1 |A2
    Chemistry| A1| B1
    Physics|A1|A1
    French|B2|C1|
    Applied Maths|A1|B1
    Accounting|B1 (?)|B2
    Irish (OL)|B3|D3
    English (OL)|B3|D3

Taking my "would be happy" with as minimum, I am aiming for at least 535. To be honest anything over 520 hopefully will get me my course. In my ideal world and if this year goes for me I wish to get 550 points. As above shows I don't care about Irish & English as long as I pass.

I am determined in a way I have never been before. I wish to pace myself and not burn out early. I realize how much the next 9 months will determine my future, my career and help me get the visas I really want.

    Things to Note
-GTA 5 may be a distraction this year. :p
-I need to not neglect going to the gym.
-I am doing after school study.
-Getting my course is more important to me than how many points or A's and B's I get.
-Doing 6 Honours may work with me perfectly or backfire completely.

    College and Future
I've no idea what I want to do with my CAO. I will be going to either Dublin or Cork. I love cars but if I am to be honest know very little about them, but I like physics so I would love to work in motor development but must investigate this. I may go for business, law or physics among many more options, not sure at all! I wish to emigrate within 2 years of leaving college to Australia or Canada. So before I am 24.

    To Sum Up
I hope I am not looking at this in 11 months time with tears of disappointment and anger. I believe my aim is realistic. I hope to look at this in 11 months time and be looking forward :)

I am not sure what function this log will have for me in the next 9 months. I may use it daily, weekly or just fill in midterm exam results and opinions or a mix of all, who knows.

Let the points race begin in 3....2....1.... :D

Accounting has clicked today :). I can do them and we are moving on to a new topic next week. Delighted by that.

In bad news due to timetable and other issues I am seriously considering dropping Applied Maths and going to my old reliable B2 business :(. New teacher just isn't working. Which really is a shame. Spending hours a week in outside schools hours classes and literally having to go home and attempt to teach myself. I've nearly a years business done and was getting Bs without much effort but it is really saddening to think I wont do AM in the leaving. Relative Velocity you win. I don't want to chance it not working out.

I was doing so well in Applied Maths before the Summer I dropped an in school subject :(

God I look silly aiming for an A1 above but c'est la vie. Its what my old teacher though I could achieve "if you stick with it" and its what I planned on achieving up until recently so it was my de facto answer for above. . No point putting in hours of work for a B2 when I can achieve that with a subject I've done before.

This weeks study went well. I did a minimum of 3 hours of study per day including homework. I am working harder than I was before my Junior Cert. I am on top of physics, maths and chemistry and my french study is going very good also which is strange. Normally I just cram French the week before my tests so its a good sign. Not feeling 100% today so I came home after school to rest and hopefully be ready for next week.

I've done an hour of study today and I'm knackered. I've Accounting, French and one maths question to do for written homework. I plan on doing this tomorrow and learning as well. I hope to do 2 hours tomorrow and 2 hours on Sunday.

I must keep consistency and not burn myself out too soon. That said I want to up the amount I am staying in after school study and dropping AM will help with that.

I've also dropped my bed time back by an hour in the second half of this week and the difference in attention and energy is well worth.

I am very motivated but not getting the applied maths feels like a kick in the teeth.

I still have no idea what I want to do in college but 520 will probably get me what I want. I do not think I am interested in any course over that. Though Id be lying if I said I knew what courses gave what points.

So great news everyone. The not being 100% yesterday was actually a cold! Not sure how long I've had i for but as I think about it my appetite has been half of what it normally was this week.Unsure whether to continue with the planned study or just the homework. I want to keep the study going but I don't want still be sick on Monday either. 4 hours study during the weekend could easily be made up on Tuesday and Wednesday.

So for today Ill be happy if I get

-French 2013 Comprehension done. (20 minutes)
    -Finish Maths homework. (10 minutes)
    -Write up experiment (15 minutes)

And if I am very good I'll do accounting (45 minutes)

The idea being to either do accounting tomorrow or do it today and take tomorrow off.

If I am feeling better tomorrow Ill go over everything I did last week too. My plan is to learn everything properly as I go along rather than having to learn it when I when I am revising. Although I've already gone over most things already there are some bits of Sound (Physics) that I am still sketchy on and there is French Vocab from Friday Class I wanted to do yesterday.

    May as well check in!

    Everything is going good

Best thing ever to switch subjects got an A1 in my first business test and Id missed most of the term :).

Ill have "midterms" the week before the midterm. Every subject examined.

Did 3 hours last Saturday, 4 hours on Monday, 3 hours yesterday and only 2 today :o. Life is getting in the way :/.

I want to be frozen and wake up in 11 months in college. Feck sake.
My CAO looks like the max course points was just under 500 last year which is good. But most of them are science/maths related so they are prone to sky rocket which is bad. One can hope they dont.
Got to keep going. Im only doing this trudge once.

    Everything's well.4.5hrs done today

Did 3hrs per day so far this week. I'm noticing it's not as good as say 2 weeks ago thankfull midterm tests next week and midterm break soon. I need a rest.
I'll do 4 tomorrow and 4 on Saturday. Monday I'll aim for as long as possible.

I'm finding it hard to remember accounting questions layouts :(

Every other subject bar french is going good but the tests will tell.
