Which second hand keyboard for gigs?

I'm looking to buy a second hand keyboard (money's tight) for a young fella. He's done a few weddings with a borrowed keyboard and he would like to try for more work and join a band but can't keep borrowing the keyboard. What makes/models should I look out for. Would a budget of €3-500 be enough? Thanks.
