    Hi there,

i bought a Technomate TM-3000D. i have the RS 232 cable ( at one end 9 pin male / gender changer to 9 pin female , and the other end USB ).
so i downloaded the loader and the software and everything. when i plug in the cable to the PC it does regocnize it , so i choose the software and the com port and have my receiver on standby and click start , what happens is that it says on the loader ( transferring ) and stays stuck on transferring for long and nothing happens after :( !

what did i do wrong ? is it the cable or what exactly .

    :(:(:(:(

Are you using a null modem cable as opposed to a normal RS232? They look the same but the connections are different. Null modem is required for this.

i bought today the rs232 cable 9 pin female and a gender changer to connect it to my pc but that even helped, so i have to have the null modem cable for sure ?
i will buy it tomorrow and give it a try, thanks very much for your reply.
so you think the serial rs 232 USB wont help either right?
because i have a laptop that doesnt have a serial port for the cable but i used my friends pc to try the rs 232 cable that i bought today and that didnt do the job :(

It definitely needs to be a null modem cable.

    Hi there,
I bought the null modem today and I connected it it says successfully connected. Transferring data...
But nothing is moving ? Do I have to leave it like that until something pops up?

You probably need to re-scan the satellite(s) in again. Do a factory re-set first then re-scan and re-do your favourites lists.

I have a full channel list done for that box if you want it save you some work......to flash all technomate tm 3000d you need to put the box into standby mode.

excollier : how to re-scan ? i did i factory reset but still no signal on both bars :(

steveon : that would be great , but do you know how to solve the signal issue ?

The NO SIGNAL problem can be due to a number of factors.
    1) Dish mis-aligned.
    2) Cables not connected properly.
    3) LNB not working.
    4) Channels no longer transmitting.
    5) Corrupt patch or incorrect patch.

Do you get NO SIGNAL on all channels?
do a factory reset and carry out a blind scan or network scan, for all the receivable satellites.
That will update the receiver's satellite transponders, and channels.

If your having problems with signal are you sure you have the dish correctly aligned and cable is not shorted???
