Connecting a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini to TV?

We recently got my Dad a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini for his birthday. Is it possible to connect the phone to the TV so he can watch Netflix? Would something like this do the job?

I've read some reports that these devices don't work with the Mini Galaxies and some say they do. I'm not the most tech savvy person so I just just wondering if someone knew if the linked adapter would work before I go off buying it. Thanks.

    One word, Chromecast

Don't waste money on plug in devices, this is what you want. They're $35 in the States if you know someone who'll order it and post it home

I use the official Samsung hd tv adopter (for the S3) on my Note 2. Got it cheap recently on Amazon UK. If buying get it from Amazon and not a third pay seller - this ensures you're getting the genuine article.
Can watch Netflix and playbacks from rte, bbc, itv etc (using vpn) as well as YouTube, movies etc. Handier than pulling out the laptop, booting it up and plugging it in. xmbc works nicely too ;) Pity Sky Go is restricted though. Doesn't make sense when you can play it on the tv from the laptop.

Chromcast has good potential, but it's limited to what you can see using Chrome browser right? So YouTube and Netflix. No flash sites so no tv players from rte etc. Has potential though if more choices are added. Still not as useful as the adopter though imho until chromecast functionality is expanded.
