Pro's and Con's of insulted plasterboard

I am hoping to get some feedback re recent information I'm getting on usage of insulted plasterboard on my new build. Standard block build house with a 150mm cavity to be pumped. I had planned on a 52mm board suggested by architect on design but both the insulation person and the engineer seem to agree that plastering the wall would be a better option as the heat would be held by the walls and this would release heat similar to the way an older storage heater would. The benefit of the insulted plasterboard is the rooms would heat faster but the con, they would cool faster. So, anyone have any thoughts on the Pro's and Con's of insulted plasterboard ?

    Also, is there alternatives ?

There have been many threads in this forum on this subject so briefly:

    For a newbuild:

    Cons (in no particular order):
    1. lack of thermal mass
    2. greater risk of interstitial condensation
    3. airtightness issues
    4. difficulty in hanging cupboards / curtain rails etc
    5. reduces internal area

    Pros:
    1. hides a multitude (really a pro for the builder, con for the owner:D)

Alternative is to have all your insulation in the one place i.e. a wider cavity or externally insulate.

Have insulated boards installed. No major issues except expense of them. Had to think ahead and put battens behind boards where cupboards going to be hung. Curtain poles hung same way. Other things fitted using the alloy screw in fittings. Find the rooms heat up v v quickly and tend to hold heat well. Presented no air tightness issues. Would do same again.

Another potential con can be the risk of interstitial condensation created by the separation of your insulation into two distinct zones.

Am in a similar dilemma and interested in where were this interstital condensation effects? Between the wall and drylinning or on the room side off the drylinning?

Is this just on colder north facing walls? Is there anything can be done to prevent this happening?

    1. In principle it can happen on any wall if conditions are right but in practise it is seen mainly on north and east walls.

    2. Prevent it no, reduce the risks yes.

And how do you reduce the risks?

I'm not being smart assed here but this has been discussed ad nausium here on boards.
Hint : Use "ïnterstitial" in the forum search function
