    Hi All,
Need some help with my C4 GP HDI 1.6 EGS.

I am in Limerick and need to find a good and reliable Citroen dealership or specialist to bring the car too.

I have experience of one or two dealerships which I wont mention but they were less than impressive.

    would appreciate any help

What's the problem with the car?

Someone here may be able to help.

Castlepark Motors on the Dock Road used to be the main Citroen Dealer but they aren't anymore, they are still are an authorised Citroen service and parts centre though. John Casey Motors on the Ennis Road are the current main Citroen Dealers in Limerick.

Bazz, Funny feeling the OP may well be referring to the Dock rd regarding bad experiences.
He/she would not be the first to feel this way.

OP, try Seamus McGrath motors in the East Link Busines Park...not particularly a Citroen specialist ,but then there really isn't one in Limerick.

As regards Fryups's suggestion, Mulcahy's have been a citroen dealer for a lot longer than anbody else in this region.

As already asked, what seems to be the problem with your car ?

    Thanks Guys,
Car is booked into Mulcahys, As regards CastlePark motors I would say the least said about them the better.

Here is the story with the car, recently the car leaked transmission fluid from a pipe returning oil from the box to the resevoir, level went low in teh box and car would not get drive in any gear. Leak fixed and all codes cleared, car ran fine for a few weeks.

Now every now and then the car jerks or chuugs, does not happen all the time and no particular pattern to it, its dangerous when it happens as something could run into teh back of you.

I'm thinking it could be gearbox related because of teh previous fault but not sure, I need a reputable mechanic with good experience on these cars to have a look

For future reference, a Peugeot dealer/specialist should be an option too, same engine same gearbox.

Today my wife brought the car to the Citroen garage, car acted up on the way, jerked violently and the dash lit up with the following errors, ESP\ABS Fault, Handbrake Fault and the service light came on.

They drove the car, done diagnostics with the lexia and cleared 16 error codes and the car didn't jerk anymore.

Dealer said drive it for a week, see if it happens again and bring it back if it does, anyone seen anything similar, I'd be certain that it will happen again, the only thing is when

Did they give you a description of the fault codes..?

Could be anything from a sticking egr valve/fuel rail pressure problem/crankshaft sensor etc.
Did they give you any idea what maybe was causing this problem...?

No Row they didn't give any idea at all, TBH the more I have read up on the EGS gearbox the more I think it cant be too bad.
so hoping this wont be a major problem

TBH, Id leave my car on the side of the road before I let mulcahys near it,
as proved (again) by the above, clear the faults and drive it for a week..... did they even tell you what the faults were.
If you are around that area bring it to slatterys in Pukane (ex peugeot dealers)

TBH Pred_racer, I went out of my way to bring it to mulcahys, I'm in Limerick city, At all cost I did not want to bring it to the dock road crew.

had you a bad experience with Mulcahys
