Retronauts is pretty much the best podcast on gaming you can listen to. There's a huge archive of old episodes on 1up and they have their own site now:

    http://www.1up.com/do/minisite?cId=3156908

    http://www.retronauts.com/

Other than that there's not much. The 8-4 podcast is great for japanese news as is WAHP even if it's a bit long winded. People will recommend Giant Bombcast, I can't stand it. It's entertaining but the presenters are mostly clueless.

There's also the IGN podcasts like Beyond where there are podcasts to suit whether you're a Nintendo/Xbox/Playstation gamer.

Here are some, most of which I listen to currently.

For people outside the iTunes universe, I've included the RSS or XML feed to stick straight into your podcatcher.

    _________

    Weekend Confirmed - http://www.shacknews.com/extras/podcast/weekendconfirmed.xml

    - Video games from all the platforms are the center of attention for hosts Garnett Lee, Brian Leahy, and Jeff Cannata. Each Friday on their audio podcast they cover the best of what they've played, top news stories, comments from the Shacknews community, opinion, and welcome industry guests.
    _________

    Crate & Crowbar - http://crateandcrowbar.com/feed/podcast/

    - Four friends who work in the games industry meet up once a week to talk about PC games over a drink. "Off-the-cuff" is a polite way to say "unprofessional", right?
    _________

    Giant Bombcast - http://www.giantbomb.com/podcast-xml/giant-bombcast/

    - The Giant Bomb staff discuss the latest video game news and new releases, taste-test questionable beverages, and get wildly off-topic in this weekly podcast.
    _________

Gamers With Jobs - Conference Call - http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/taxonomy/term/408/0/feed

    - The official podcast of GamersWithJobs.com, every week the guys discuss the latest games, issues affecting the industry and more! This is THE gaming podcast for mature gamers.
    _________

    Player One Podcast - http://playerone.libsyn.com/rss

    - Ex-game journalists Chris Johnston and Phil Theobald host this weekly podcast where they discuss the hottest topics in the industry. Visit the Player One Podcast web site at www.playeronepodcast.com.
    _________

    Idle Thumbs - http://feeds.feedburner.com/idle-thumbs?format=xml

    - Idle Thumbs casts its pod into your face with off-the-cuff, incisive, multiplatform video gaming discussion every week. No on-air schedules, no Skype. We cover Windows PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation (PS2 and PS3), Wii, Nintendo DS, Sony PSP, and the Atari Lynx.
    _________

    Massively Speaking - http://massively.joystiq.com/category/massively-speaking/rss.xml

    _________

    RadioRadar - http://talkradar.wordpress.com/feed/

    _________

    Three Moves Ahead - http://threemovesahead.libsyn.com\rss

    - Three Moves Ahead is the official podcast of the gaming blog Flash of Steel. Troy Goodfellow hosts a panel of knowledgeable writers and developers in a weekly discussion of what's new and old in strategy and war games.
    _________

    One Life Left's Podcast - http://onelifeleft.libsyn.com/rss

    - One Life Left is a radio show about videogames, only not really. We love games but we take them precisely as seriously as they deserve. 99% nonsense and 1% heart-stopping brilliance, they are all supposed to be fun and so are we. We have news, reviews and special guests, sure, but we also play game-related music and we have stupid game-related features like inappropriately dark-hearted poetry, gambling tips and chart news from a market stall. We're on the wonderful Resonance 104.4FM at 7PM every Monday and on the internet all the time, ever, right here.

My current game podcast list (some mentioned, some not mentioned):

    IGN AU Pubcast (good fun)

IGN UK Podcast (UK-centric, but good contributors)

    Weekend Confirmed

    Wired's Game|Life Podcast

Gameological (infrequent - once every 6 weeks maybe?)

    Invisible Walls (podcast from GameTrailers.com)

Nintendo Voice Chat (IGN Nintendo Podcast)

Podcast Unlocked (IGN Xbox 360 Podcast)

Arcade and Retro.com Podcast (gloriously Irish!) :)

Of ones not already named, EpicBattleCry is hosted by GT's Daniel Kayser, and Tony Gryce and Brent Adams. I'd highly recommend as a light-hearted but also smart discussion show of the weekly news & games industry. A huge bonus about the show is that it's available in video format, showing footage of the game/trailer etc they're talking about(video version here) or you can download the mp3s or on iTunes

    And of course, boards.ie own Retr0gamer's http://arcadeandretro.com/ :D

Cant stand Giant Bombcast myself. Everyone recommends it but theres just too much babbling, laughing, general ejittery. Its like they're coked up before they go on air!

I wholeheartedly endorse this and have no connection to it whatsoever :P

I love the Giant Bombcast. I don't often agree with their opinion on games but they are more often than not quite funny.

I think Weekend Confirmed can be quite good depending on the guest line-up and the amount of alcohol consumed (the less the better).

Yeah i really enjoy the bombcast, its a lot more personal in that you feel like you get to know the guys on it. An example is the out pouring of very personal grief felt at the passing of Ryan Davis from people who had never even met him but regularly listened to the podcast and watched the giant bomb videos

I like weekend confirmed overall as I think they have good discussion, but Jeff Cannata high pitched rants get tiresome very quickly and Garnett Lee's humour can be overtly juvenile.

Most of the podcasts I listen to have been mentioned above. Gamers with Jobs is probably the only one I make the effort to listen to weekly. I recently started listening to Guy Cockers gaming podcast simply because I like his style.

I used to love the Giant Bombcast but the sheer length of them is just off putting. They usually hit the 3 hour mark (sometimes even 4) and don't talk about games enough.

I've been enjoying the other Giant Bomb podcast, 'Bombin' the AM with Scoops and the Wolf', its usually only an hour long and they talk about news mainly.

To be fair, I don't think he rants that often. When he does, though, I'll grant you they sometimes drag on a little. One recent rant (the sentiment of which was echoed elsewhere) was regarding Nintendo's 'racist' press conference preamble at E3.

I seldom disagree with the actual point Cannata makes during his rant.

Edit: btw, Cory Banks (GWJ) hosts/participates on the PC Gamer podcast now that he works for them.

Listened to the latest Retronauts and turned it off after a few minutes.

It's not that it's bad but you know what you're getting with a name like that and I don't really have any interest in hearing about Nintendo's image in the 80's.

I'm sure it's great for those who like their retro (not naming names :P) but I' looking for peoples opinions on recent announcements, reviews etc.
