HI Boarders - Not very social media literate but just created a blog for occasional posting of my wildlife /nature observations and related stuff. Using Blogger/BlogSpot.com
However, if I google my blog title or the key words I have set up, the search engine doesn't point /link with my blog but picks up other's blogs with similar/related wording What am I doing wrong ?

Also, am I allowed to quote texts or articles , book extracts etc in postings on my blog ? crediting the author of course.

Similarly, am I allowed post links to related websites etc

I wouldn't want to infringe copyright etc
Any advice please ? In open forum or private message is fine

Wait for google to index your blog. This may take quite some time.
Look into SEO (search engine optimisation)

Absolutely you can post links to other sites.

Quoting is more interesting. In most coutries it's covered by Fair Use - but that that really mean is pretty unclear.

I usually assume it's ok to quote small bit - sentences, rather than paragraphs. And make sure I write some stuff myself.

It have been known to take Google 4-6 weeks to index a new blog. Though some I've set up recently have been a lot faster than that.
