    is this a bit harsh compared to what the pakistani's got? they did it in international matches and one of them only got 5 years. Sreesanth and co. will prob appeal and ban will be reduced.

    Side note: is that how the law works...a precedent has been set and now everything has to be in line with that precedent?

    Kaneria got banned for life by the ECB for fixing, so there is a precedent if you wanted one, don't think it matters that much though tbh.

    Life ban is the correct punishment for such cricketers. Sreesanth was already making loads of money by playing IPL, also he was a regular member of the Indian cricket team, then what was the need of doing spot fixing. it was his greed for more money that made him commit the serious crime. No sympathies should be there for such cricketers, even the Pakistani's cricketers should have been banned for lifetime.
