Not that easy depending on engine type a modern high pressure TDI would be a lot of work

Off the top of my head knowing im missing a load of stuff.
    • Engine
    • Gearbox
    • Wireing
    • Ecu
    • Tank
    • Lines
    • Driveshafts may be different
    • Radiator
    • Various hoses
    • exhaust
    • Clocks

If you picked up a crashed one and had months to mess around with it maybe.

I could think of much better ways to spend months in the shed.

    The same + less wiring.

Even mounting the engine and gearbox can be a nightmare. I doubt the mounts are the same and that means welding and fabrication.

Honestly if your asking these questions I would be look at buying a carina in the first place or paying someone a lot of money to do it for you.
