The Z500 got the better looks and audio system, but you'll want to add some more RAM. Unfortunately this is not as easy as it should be, you'll have to remove the keyboard first in order to open the bottom part of the case (the G580 has a nice big service hatch, 2 screws and you can easily access all components).

P.S. For 50 yoyos more, you'll get a quad Core i7 Acer laptop at SOL.

cheers for the help..yeah the amount of ram was pushing me away from it a bit and does look to be a bit more of a hassle installing some more in there and would just like to buy it as is without the need to upgrade. Found this as well today the z580 same general price but 8gb of ram and other stuff like better battery and usb slots any known problems with this? think an i7 might be a bit of an overkill.

An overkill today maybe, but in two or three years? Surely you wouldn't have to break the bank for 50 yoyos. ;)
