Don't forget that every provider will tie you to a 12 month contract.

BTW, 72 a month aint expensive for tv and bb ;)

72 a month is a lot of money for a student, but it is difficult to get TV _and_ broadband cheaper in this country. I would simply forget about the TV and get a good broadband connection, which wouldn't cost more than half of that.

Yes €72 is a lot alright, but there are four of them so split four ways it's €18.

OP: You should check the UPC site for a triple bundle of tv, bb & phone (you don't have to order a handset or use the phone connection at all) & you may find a cheaper package. Just remember as already mentioned that you'd be entering a 12 month contract, so whoever's name the bill will be in should collect the extra 3 or 4 months contribution from the others well in advance of breaking up to avoid being stung.

Check out the tripe play bundles here: http://www.upc.ie/deals/tvbroadbandphone/ YOu probably wouldn't want to go for either of the 'Limited' bundles due to the 10GB download allowance, considering there will be four of you.

You might also want to avail of the boards deal for new UPC customers:
If you would like a €50 voucher for either Carphone Warehouse or DID Electrical, Plus Free Installation and a reduced price new customer bundle then just click through here www.upc.ie/boardsoffer

There's a long thread here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055831222&page=137 if you have any questions for them about the offer or prices of bundles.

Skimp on the phone and TV, there's internet-based alternatives you can replace them with.

UPC have a student specific deal, which I think is less than 12 months. I'm not sure if that's the quote you have above but it's worth looking into.

Fwiw, although the controller for UPC makes their tv a pain in the arse, quiet nights in, or watching football, are awful without a tele to sit around.
