    Hi there,

I started a ce scheme on the 5th of august after a year and a half on job seekers allowance. I just found out im pregnant due april 2014 and im not sure if i will be entitled to maternity leave/benefit as my ce scheme doesnt finish until august 2015.
Does anyone know how this works, do i get payed anything and does the time i take off get added to the end of my scheme so that i wont finish in august.

    Very confused,
    Thanks C

    You will get maternity leave.
How much you'll get paid will depend on your PRSI contributions in 2013 ( the year before you go on mat leave).

    The minimum is €217.80.

Have you worked here else before the CE scheme?

Order a copy of your PRSI record here:

    https://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/secure/RequestSIContributionRecord.aspx

And call the maternity benefit section on Monday with your PPS number and they should be able to give you an indication what you be paid.

I think you can apply for maternity leave after 16 weeks, so get your application in ASAP at lease you get the letter back saying what you'll be paid.

If you are a dependant on another persons claim you may get a payment if you do not qualify for MB.
