Tus Scheme

    Hi all

I've a few questions about the Tus programme.

I got a letter yesterday to attend for interview for the Tus programme next week. The interview is in a town 16 miles away in a different county. This will cost me a fortune in travel. Is there a travel allowance?

My second question is I'm cohabiting. Myself and my partner get €156.40 pw each. Does this mean that I'll only get €176.40 if I get a place on the Tus scheme? And if I get extra money does that mean my partner's payment will be lowered?

Thanks in advance, just a bit worried how this is going go.

hi my partner is on a tus scheme. not too sure about the travel allowance as his is right beside us, but I think you will get help towards that. anyway we were both getting a JS payment when he started, we are now on over 100e extra a week, his money went up from being on course. and then a few months into his course I got phone call from dep social welfare in Dundalk saying I was supposed to be getting extra too since he started as I was now able to add him as a qualified adult! they calculated how much he was allowed to make weekly and means tested it and worked out I got top up of 70e a week for him! I got all back dated from he started too which meant I got to collect 1,500 that week in post office!! hope that helps, definitely take up the course u and your partner will be much better off for the 12 months!!!
