Im looking for someone to tell me the name of the connection i need to split the cable that comes from the upc point on my wall so i can have internet & tv at the same time?
Currently (dont ask) i have either internet OR tv but not both because i dont have this splitter thingymajig.
I know its a splitter but does it have a specific name? And can anyone link me to where i can pick one up online? Im also looking for the cable with the screw on connection too, are these things available from anyplace like maplin?

    Thanks guys!

The cables from the wall to the modem are bog standard coaxial, if you mean what I think you mean. You'll need to have half a clue how to cap the cable with a screw-type socket/plug, depending on what you have, although some are fitted with more user-friendly connections.

You most likely need this screw-type splitter or this standard type splitter.

Cheers, i already have the cable from the wall to the modem, thats got the screw on cap on it & its screwed onto the back of the modem (i have theee original upc modem, 8 years old)
So what i need is a coaxial from the tv to the splitter & another one of these to the main upc point then?
I have 1 cable & i need 3 in total & the splitter isnt it?
Can the cables not be bought already made up?

Glad you've got answers, but could I ask why UPC left you in this position ? I'm asking 'cos I'm considering getting rid of Eircom and Sky, but you don't seem to have been treated in a very pro way.
