Hi, could really do with a bit of info if any of you have had experience of this. I have cervical rib on both sides of neck which is causing 2 aneurysms. Both subclavian arteries are wrapped around the ribs. I am going in to get ribs removed and arteries repaired at the end of the month. I was in vascular clinic yesterday to speak to surgeon, but only seen a member of his team who had never seen this before and was not able to answer any of my questions. When I seen the surgeon himself a few months ago and he told me they were going to remove it, I was kind of taken aback and didn't ask anything. Some of the questions I would like answers to are..... How long will I be in hospital? How long is recovery? How big is scar? Will an orthopaedic surgeon be in the theatre also? I would appreciate any info you might have for me. Thanks.
