    Hiya i need to study Heaney myself as my class did it last year and I'm a repeat. How in the name of God do I study a poet myself?

    Its only one poet so i woudn't worry too much! just get the book out first and read all the poems ,jot down your first thoughts on them , the books usually have a few little notes about them/or if you have keynotes that would give you good notes.You can also look online ,there is usually sample answers if you look. Definitely try an essay and hand it up to your teacher asking them to correct it ,i'm sure they will not mind!
