Can I tax a commercial van without having a business?

    I'm looking into buying a small commercial van, Citroen Berlingo.
    Can I tax this under the commercial tax?

    I do not have a business and will be using it for private use.


    I'm asking can it be done.

    Nope, you need to be self employed or have a registered business/company.

    Not sure about registering for vat, may have something to do with it!

    Sorry OP but taxing commercially for private use wouldn't be in accordance with the tax law as I see it and therefore not something we'll discuss here.
    Let me know if I have misunderstood you.
