Is planning needed for adding internal walls?

Long story long, looking at a house at the moment. It currently has an attached garage off the kitchen which is doubling as a utility room.

If we go ahead with the purchase I would like to split the garage and use half as a garage and the other half as a utility room, with a cavity wall separating the two.
Would I need to get planning permission for this, given that it is internal work but could be interpreted as change of use for the garage? The original planning permission doesn't mention using the garage as a utility room.

    Cheers.

Hi, you dont need PP to put in an internal wall. you should check if the house has been extended before though because any additional habitable space should be within the exempt 40m2, otherwise you need PP. you might need to check the building regs re room size ect
    though as well.
