Ring your college. In the meantime look at it again and check your status.

I had problems with DCU's online system but online issues seem
    to be resolved fairly quickly.

Newbie question, do your fees have to be paid before you can register, or do you register and pay fees (pg student)

Paying for fees is registering as far as I know. I am waiting to hear back from Fingal about my grant renewal, so the fees office only told me just to pay the €39 student levy until I get a confirmation letter from them.

When registering I noticed a huge charge titled under "Free Fees" which amounted to approx €4500. What is this fee for, and do I have to pay it? Or do I just need to pay the €38 student levy and the €2500 registration fee?

The "Free Fees" are paid for by the government.

If you are getting a SUSI grant, all you have to pay is the €38 student levy.

If not then you pay the registration fee of €2,500 and the €38 student levy.

Thanks! That's a weight off my shoulders :)

Any other new students having trouble with the online registration?

Hey guys. As far as I'm aware I've successfully registered - my email is set up, and I've paid the €38 student levy - although I haven't received a confirmation email. I need proof of registration for my back to education allowance, and I was wondering if the proof of registration on the online process would suffice.

I have one problem though. It states at the bottom to complete the next steps in the registration process in order to enable DCU to finalise my registration. And despite the fact that I've completed these sections it still says this. Now I'm unsure if I've even successfully registered, let alone having proof for my BTEA.

Proof of registration/attendance for btea is a standard letter from registry, date stamped ..
This year that would be 30th Sept.. you cannot 'prove' you're registered until after that date

I'm so confused, can someone help?

In the cost of registration section are the following:

    STUDENT LEVY 38.00
    CAPITAION LEVY 148.00
    DEVELOPMENT LEVY 86.00 D

Do I have to pay these ON TOP of the 60% fees to be paid now*? :(

Then, in the fees payment section, when I check the "Pay 60% of fees" section, I get this:

    Amount Now Due - €-136.8

What???? Is that MINUS that amount?
    They make this VERY unclear.

    * doing a PG Dip
