I've recently upgraded to 4670k/Z87/8GB and still using my old 2GB Asus DirectCU2 6950 with shaders unlocked, but thinking about upgrading it too.

What would be my best bet if I wanted to spend about e250-e300 (and not even e1 over it)? The only game I am sure I will be playing is BF4 @ 1920x1080.

To wait would be your best bet imo as there will be new releases from AMD in conjunction with the Bf4 release.
I think the paper release is the 25th of this month.

Yep it's a probably your best bet in that price range. Grab one with a decent cooler like the Asus or Msi.
