Overseas Police report

I need your help! I'm an Irish girl (born, raised and educated in Ireland) but living in the UK. I want to start my teacher training in September next year but before I can do that, I need to work as a teaching assistant for 2 terms as experience which I feel is fair enough! For this, I need a CRB check (which can easily be done here) and an overseas police report for countries I've lived in apart from the UK (which would be Ireland).. My question is, how do I go about getting an overseas police report from Ireland? I understand that I can't request it personally from Thurles and obviously Im not in Dublin to visit my local Garda station.. Does anyone have any suggestions/advice?

My sister had a similar problem as far as I can remember she had to ask the University to apply for her as well as chasing it herself while here. We spent ages on the phone to the Garda Vetting Unit as well as going through the sergeant in our local station.
Be prepared to have to fight to be able to get it as when you are looking for a second one garda vetting cert to start a probation year etc they are a nightmare to deal with

I wouldn't be dealing with Universities until September next year but until then, I'm flying solo! I need it before I can start working as a teaching assistant which would (fingers crossed) be within the next few weeks/months! I've absolutely no idea how to get around this!

Try ringing them in Thurles and see what they say. Its one of the questions they don't answer on the website but they have contact details up
The Unit can be contacted at:-
Garda Central Vetting Unit/Garda Criminal Records Office
    Racecourse Road
    Thurles
    Co. Tipperary
    Tel: Lo-Call 1890 488 488/00353 504 27300
Office Hours: 9am-5pm Monday – Friday

Be prepared to be on hold for a while though

    hope you get it sorted
