Seems there is a big Vax sale on tomorrow with things reduced by upto to 75%. You probably have to use parcel motel, I'm not sure as the site isn't live yet.

    Current Vax Deals

Vax logoVax up to 75% off
Online sale includes over 100 vacuum cleaners and accessories
    Starts Thu
It may sound too good to be true, but it isn't. You're getting massive discounts, simply because the boxes are slightly damaged, but the product's fine.

Starts 10am Thu 12 - ends Mon 16 Sep: Go to the Vax sale website (THIS LINK WILL GO LIVE 10AM THU) and enter the password FACTORYSALE13 to bag these huge discounts. Delivery's £4.99. Stock is limited and we expect this one to be popular, so go quickly if you've got your eye on something.

Vacuum cleaner and flooring specialist Vax has assured us the damage is minimal and the items themselves are new and in perfect order. We've featured this promotion before and the feedback from our users was excellent, with people saying they could barely see a dent in the cardboard box.

Examples of models in the sale include:

Vax Air3 upright vacuum cleaner for £70 (was £250) (next cheapest we've found: £150 at John Lewis)
Vax Air cylinder vacuum cleaner for £70 (was £200) (next cheapest we've found: £100 at John Lewis)
Vax Rapide Ultra 2 carpet cleaner W90-RU-P for £100 (was £300) (next cheapest we've found: £130 at TJ Hughes)
Vax Total Home Master steam cleaner S7 for £60 (was £150) (next cheapest we've found: £180 at Argos)

Most come with either a two-year or six-year warranty.

If your product is faulty, you still have your usual consumer rights, as explained in the Sale of Goods Act 1979. But you won’t be able to return the item on the basis the box is damaged.

Great - but will they ship here, or is it just the PM option?

Looking at the vax.co.uk site, it's UK only option.

I replaced my Dyson with a VAX because I got a good deal.
But it was a waste of money and had no suction. I eventually replaced the VAX with an Aldi vaccum which was far superior than the VAX but not as good as the Dyson.

Overloaded servers are the exact reason companies should not hype up online sales..

It's running now, but patchily. It'll take two or three refreshes to get the pages to load but keep trying and they appear eventually :)

It requires a UK billing address for the payment to process.

I can confirm this, after spending ages trying to buy a vacuum cleaner the site would not let me buy it using my credit card.

If the Vax webiste sucked any harder than it already does right now. Id vacuum the house with my laptop!

My order went through. I accidentally put Parcel Motel, Antrim as my billing address and the transaction went through. I got a confirmation email - will update when/if its dispatched

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 244 ✭✭Golfwidow

Yes I also had success - using Parcel Motel as both my delivery and credit card billing address. Just ordered a vax robot vacuum cleaner.

I ended up using my OH's card as it's a UK one to but an air pet upright. It wouldn't accept parcel motel as a billing address for either my credit or debit card. Even though the transaction failed I've got vax.co.uk as a pending transaction on my visa debit which I hope is reversed soon.

I keep getting "Unfortunately your card has been declined as your billing address and post code do not match your payment card details. Please update your billing address and try again." if I use parcel motel as the billing address.

Its really odd that some orders are being rejected and others are not. When I was placing my order the billing address defaulted to the delivery address and I clicked on confirm without checking
Here's a copy of my order confirmation

I got the same error as West for my credit card, my debit said "we could not process your transaction at this time" but they have put a hold on my acc for the money. Odd that it's only some people, to do with bank/provider maybe?

I was buying the Air 3 vacuum clearer with works out at 70 pounds. Maybe if the item you are buying is over a certain price there is extra validation with the credit card. Between myself and my wife, we tried PTSB, Ulster bank and AIB CC's with no luck.

This seems to be it alright. It wouldn't let me buy the Air 3 but I was able to get a cheaper one (under £50).

Just wondering has anyone else got a shipping notification from Vax? I ordered 2 items - 2 separate transactions - money already taken from account but since confirmation email re order on the 15th (last Sunday) , I've heard nothing! No follow on emails re shipping at all! How's everybody else getting on? Lumi, did you receive your order yet?

Mine shipped on the 15th and it arrived in Parcel Motel, Antrim on the 19th - picking it up later today.
They won't email you but you can check the status of your order on the Vax site http://www.vax.co.uk/contact
