Just wondering if academic registry will replace a student id card if it doesn't work when swiped/scanned? I.e my card doesn't work on the swipe access entrance to the arts block and is unresponsive when scanned at the library counter when getting reserved books etc. However, the card works when using the self service machines in the library. If so, does anyone know the cost of a replacement?

Swipe access tends to be temperamental at best. I think it's about 4-6 euro for a replacement but if it's a faulty card they may replace it for free (not sure though).

I went through four cards in the space of a month when I started last year because the swipe never worked, and if it did it didn't work in the library. They eventually got it fixed but I wasn't charged for any of them.

I got mine replaced today because the swipe wasn't working, no charge.
