Corrector Payments

Hi all,
Have many received payment for Junior/Leaving cert exam corrections yet? I emailed and was told my claim was received Aug 13th and it would be processed in 30 days which is this week....not holding out much hope though!

No sign of mine anyway. Didn't someone say on the superintendent and examiner's thread that they rang the SEC and were told it could be early November?

Is that 30 days or 30 working days? If it's the latter, you won't see it until at least October which has been the norm for the last few years.

I know I've gotten it in the middle of October for the last few years. Junior science is one of the last to finish mind so I imagine we're one of the last to get it but still.

My sprioc lá was July 26th, I'm not expecting anything until mid October at the earliest.

I was superintending for the LCA exam and finished early June. Still waiting too.

Is it possible you could send back a bag of dodgy corrections putting down random scores?
Is this why the payment is withheld until all the results are back to the students?
Just wondering cos the longer it takes me to get this payment the more likely i am to go on a spending spree!(buying special white board markers and fabulously expensive geometry equipment of course).

God this wait is rediculous...

Anyone any preference for particular whiteboard markers? The nobo ones are pretty clear to read no matter what the colour but a bit leaky sometimes...bic are ok (red is a disaster) but bic run out in about 3 days..

Does anyone know if the payment is itemised in a breakdown or do you have to do the maths yourself?

Surely there's something wrong there - surely. I was paid well over a month ago. Have you rang them again since?

No last time they said a month to 6 weeks or more. It's only been a month. Got speaking to someone else who was superintending in the same school for the same amount of time as me as they haven't been paid yet either.

Separate but related question - when is one finished correcting papers , end date for whole process? Would end of July be clear , eg 26/27? Approx.

Have supervised but not corrected and interested in end date for planning next summer.

Pretty much, yeah. Depends on the subject but junior cert science is one of the last to finish and it usually finishes around then.

It depends on the date. The core subjects (English, Irish, Maths) have their conferences in June as they are the first exams out of the way, so they tend to finish correcting around mid July. Subjects near the end of the exam timetable tend to have their conferences around the end of June, start of July so correction tends to run up to the end of July, or just before the August bank holiday.

Can anyone remember when we receive our balance??? I can't remember the exact date. Have a wedding on 26th of October and need to budget.. Ha.. Is it mid October?????

It could be anytime in October or even going into November based on a post in another thread in the forum.

Throwing a dart at a calendar will get you as accurate a date as anything posted here at the moment.

I reckon with all the cutbacks in the last few years that the sec are understaffed and meeting exam/ results deadlines is the priority and everything else is done as soon as possible. There used be a time 5 or 6 years ago that payment for corrections came in the second week of September like clockwork. Not anymore.

It's pretty much always the middle of October for me but like the above poster said, you can't bank on it.

That's great, happy days! What date did you finish? I was junior cert so probably a bit of a wait yet!
