Tooth attrition & pressure

Does anyone know what pressure causes tooth attrition? Does any tooth-to-tooth contact causes some sort of microscopic wear, regardless of what pressure is applied, or is there a certain pressure up to which there's no wear?

I'm currently going through an orthodontic treatment and my teeth sometimes clash (usually just one upper and one lower; it happens a lot when I cock my head to one side or down). Does this cause wear?
