    Hi,

I just bought a '09 A5 Coupe 2.0TDI, with 71K miles on the clock. The service schedule says the "toothed belt" replacment isn't due until 114K miles or 180K km. That seems like a high number, does anybody have experience with these? Would you recommend changing it earlier, and more importantly, do Audi gauranteee the belt until 114K miles, or is it TS if it snaps?

There was a thread recently on the Passat with the same engine and it was at that mileage. You could always change it at 160kms if you wanted to be very safe. Audi are doing a deal atm aren't they? 400 euro ish

Their webiste says FROM only 399 euro, so I'm guessing they picked the cheapest belt they fit, and most likely didn't include the water pump in that quote. Thanks, I'll have a look for that other thread.

I got my 2.0 TDI done in Newmarket motors for 350 euro and that included everything.

    Yes. TS if it snaps.

Anyway your car is 4, nearly 5 years old now so it should get a TB anyway (the rule of thumb is recommended mileage or 5 years, whatever comes first)

    I'd get it changed.

The service schedule doesn't mention a timeframe. It does for other parts, which is strange. But you're probably right, I should get it done for peace of mind.
