Renault Laguna won't start, any ideas?

    Hey guys I drive a Renault laguna 01 1.6 and Sunday just gone I put my key card into the slot and nothing happened at all I went and got my key card checked and they said it was perfect and bought a new car battery but still nothing at all only headlights and radio working any idea guys thanks

    I had a laguna that pulled this stunt regularly, most of the time it was either the steering lock or the in gear sensor- jiggle the steering wheel and the gear stick and try again, worked for me 90% of the time.
    Sometimes though it just didn't want to start, but would start no problem later on, presumably when it was in a better mood. Not much use when you're trying to get to work in the morning:mad:
    It's one of the many vagueries of French electronics!

    i am at a loss why this has happened i only just had the bearing and clutch 320 btw last week drove it Saturday my bro moved the car sunday morning as it was blocking him in it was fine and when i went to drive it i put my key card in and nothing happened i hope it is not the steering column as i have read elsewhere:( cheers for the replys

    My 01 used to do that at times,other times it would start and rev itself.

    All I used to do was keep taking the card out and put it back in again until it decided to work pos.:(

    Came across a few like that even 2 of them had started up without the key card or anyone near it.
    There are some mad electrics in those.

    I have spent 320 on the clutch problem. 70 on a battery yesterday as i thought that could of been the issue but sadly not.

    I think a match maybe would have been the route to go if you hadn't spent so much on it.

    Ha Ha i know it is killing me we are expecting our first baby in a few months i need my car:mad: i have the guy who done the clutch looking at it tommorrow i am fearing the steering column:eek:
