NCT - lights advice?

I have my NCT tomorrow evening, just discovered I have a blown foglight in the front, I never use them anyway and just gave the car the once over this evening and discovered I have a blown front fog and a blown rear third brake light in the bottom of the rear windscreen.

Are these NCT failures involving a re-test or are they visual items which once they see I have them replaced that they will just then issue the cert providing it passes on everything else?

Is the third brake light a fail item?

    http://www.ncts.ie/NCT%20Manual%20Revise%20May%202012.pdf

    Section 32
"1. Where auxiliary lamps are found to be inoperative, this should not be considered a reason for failure."

    Section 26
"1. For the third (high) brake lamp, Reason for Failure (5) does not apply."

Foglights will be a visual if they failed you.

I've 'heard' in the past that what you can do is blank out the foglights at the front with black tape, this way, they won't test them as they're 'inoperative' so to speak. I had a car a few years ago that came with headlight covers and when I put them on, they didn't bother to check them but then again, each test centre/tester could be different though

'Reason for failure (5)' refers to the lights being 'Not of same dimensions and intensity', this means that you can't be failed on the basis that the third (middle) light is not the same physical size and wattage as the left and right brake lights.

If the middle brake light is 'not working or faulty' then it will be a failure, unless it's an LED matrix in which case it's only a fail if less than 50% of the LEDs are inoperative.

Got two bulbs today in the motor factors and changed them myself, taking it in for the test this evening so providing any other issue I am unaware of it should pass okay.
