Cancel Sky and renew in a new name

    Hi

    I am looking to upgrade our old sky+ box to the new one but sky want us to take the HD channels and @ €15 extra per month its a bit much. We are not in contract with Sky so my question is can I cancel Sky which is in my hubbies name and then sign up for a new sky subscription in my name?

    Funnily enough someone working for Sky called to the door yesterday asking if we had the newer box. We don't and I think the suggestion he made was that we do what you're saying (we also don't want HD). I have a friend who works for Sky so I'll probably ask him about it but I think you can do that. Maybe someone here has done it already?

    We are thinking of exactly the same thing. The Sky+ box is really old & giving trouble. I forget the details when we phoned them about a new box. There was a substantial charge anyway. The account is in my hubbies name, could we cancel that & put new one in my name. Any advice would be appreciated.
