    Not opening doors/boot? I'd change the battery in the key.

    Have you a second key with buttons on it?

    Get a proper key fob identical to old one.

    When new key is cut to match new barrel, put electronic thing from an old one to a new one.

    There are some places where you can ask to modify your new barrel to match an old key - definately cheaper than changing barrels allround. ;)

    No. You can get a second hand one instead, in working condition of course.

    ====================

    It's a guess only - cannot properly assess without seeing it.
