I asked in my local diy today if they sold a product to seal under the eaves.Last year i had a problem with rats entering from the gutter under the roof tiles. My tiles are of a wavey design[dont know the tiles name].Anyway these tiles leave a gap of about an inch access into the roof.
I am thinking maybe wire wool and expanding foam mixture. But im nearly sure there is a metal barrier/flashing that sits up under the tiles to close the gap.
Would anyone know the name of this flashing and where it might be available. Thanks .

calle a comb filter or over fascia ventilator depending on which one you saw, you can't put expanding foam in there as you need ventilation to prevent your roof rotting.

If you're thinking of filling other holes though vermin will eat through wirewool and the stuf near the surface would rust and stain. I have had good success with rolls of chickenwire +expanding foam, wont keep them out forever though.

Thanks paddyp i will try the chicken wire and the foam,Unless i come accross the facia vent. You would think an item like that would be popular in a diy.Rats come off trees and climb inside the down pipes .Once they are up on the gutter its party time, for them.

You can get the Eaves Vents in the Roofing Tile Suppliers.

Have a look at eaves comb, google images, the over fascia vents probably won't suit, as the over fascia vent is a rigid piece and won't fill the void in the likes of a double roman tiles or the likes, and will also lift the tile up by almost an inch......
