Object to Mount over fireplace in kitchen

    I am looking for something to mount on a wall which is above a fireplace

    The fireplace is in the kitchen and has a granite border with the rest of it made up of stone.

    The wall above the fireplace looks extremely bare and therefore needs something above it.

    It doesn't have to be huge just fit in. We live on a farm so therefore would really like something related to farm or country.......

    I would prefre to put up some sort of object rather than a painting as I have plently of other walls to take wall art.

    One of my relatives uses the space over their kitchen fire to display wreaths that they change with the seasons, you can have the basic four or more if you wish to have some that accompany holidays like Christmas, Halloween, Easter etc

    Some old metal watering jugs or a set of style clothes irons that you would heat up over the open fire.Or a selection of metal horse shoes


    It would keep in theme with the old style/farm/country theme.

    I also like the idea of wreaths or swags of seasonal crop etc. Or since it is in the kitchen I would probably display nice old plates (hung or on neat shelves) or other kitchen/cooking related objects (old pans, utensils etc.) above the fireplace – nothing too bulky tho. A big mirror always works too, with a collection of chunky, simple candles and candlesticks on the mantelpiece.
