Driving Lessons -- Booking Test

    Hey Guys!

I have my provisional license for ages now ( probably 2 years almost! ) - If I book the driving test, for sometime soon, and then I book lessons, how fast do you reckon I will go from limited driving experience, to being able to pass the test? - how long should I give myself to " get ready " for it?

Ideally, I would be doing a few lessons a week, if possible, so I would be willing to focus a lot of my effort on it.

I did take some lessons ( about 5 ) over a year ago, but due to work constraints, I had to stop. So I do know a bit, but I am far from passing the test!

It would be great to hear from past experiences, and other opinions!

    Thanks

Why do you want to book the test before doing the lessons? Why not do a few lessons and see if the instructor thinks you're ready?
I presume your permit is not your first as if it is you'll have to complete the EDT course before even applying for a test.

I'd want to book it before i do the lessons, primarily because there is such a backlog in the wait time for the test.

It is my first, i have already begun the EDT Course, i am 5 lessons or so in, so hopefully i can pick up from where i left off.

Waiting times for tests are 8-12 weeks, not ideal but certainly not as bad as it used be.
You will not get a test date until you have completed EDT so that is where your priority should lie at present.

Ring them for a cancellation if you want a test ASAP. I rang them on Monday and have my test next Tuesday.
