Old ruin on farm - options?

Just looking for some ideas here.

We have a very old ruin of a farmhouse and outbuildings in the middle of our farm. Site is about 1 acre and is in quite a scenic spot.

Access to the site is bad (over a hill and a few fields with no roads). I don't really want to flatten it and also there is a bit of history there. The problem is that its getting a bit dangerous now.

Any ideas on what we could do with it?

post some pics to see exactly what could be done,Not fond of knocking anything with a bit of history,Maybe it could be fixed up as make shift pens or something?

We had to put up metal bars etc on a tower to discourage people coming for a look etc. could be a liability issue if there is an accident etc.

They make a good roadway. Especially if your going through boggy land.
Or maybe filling a few drains.

Yes, was just used as pens recently. The part that still has a roof looks like it could come crashing down any minute. Place is overgrown with trees growing through it.

Was thinking maybe a renovated holiday cottage or something like that? Would be hard to get ESB and good road access though....

Forget about tourism accommodation there are plenty self catering cottages lying idle on farms at the moment because hotels are so cheap. Board failte will have you spending much it would be cheaper build from new instead of renovating.

See if David drumm could spot you around 100 million and develop the area to turn it into a holiday resort- promote rural tourism and let us the tax payer pay for it

    Just my tup pence
