New domain for blog or wordpress?

Hey guys need to make a decision maybe you'll give me your 2 cents...

I have a website with perfect domain for purpose. However it's related to travel and I feel the name is a bit too bland to use the "domain" as the title of my travel blog.

My main concern is whatever is best re getting it to work better re SEO. There's no facility to add the blog to the same domain name so I need to either use an external (wordpress) or start an entirely new domain and link the two of them up?

    Any suggestions appreciated?

    Thanks

    Cullen

Transfer the domain registration to another registrar that will let you configure something like blog.perfectDomain.com?

If you get a domain like www.myblogsite.com you can point it to the current content so the current content will be presented under the new domain.
Not sure if that's better/worse for SEO.
