AFAIK, hasn't the construction phase of the crossrail project has been underway for a good 18 months at this stage?

I know someone working on the actual TBM. Wages are supposed to be really good, good bonuses; but its shift work as its a 24/7 project.

    Whats your trade/profession?

    Nothing in the construction industry!

Mainly Surveillance/cash n transit/close protection for large company's but if I could get into Crossrail as a newbie it would be a good path to go down!

Right, so you are looking to start as a labourer?

    Aside:
The tunnelers, who do the digging, are actually predominately all Irish men mostly from the west and Donegal, and they hold unbeliveable sway on the job too.
Everybody has to keep these guys happy; if they walked of the job the project would grind to a halt you can't replace tunnelers.

AFAIK, although I'm not 100% certain, getting the start labouring would be more about getting to know guys working on the job.
Also I would really imagine that you certainly need previous construction site experience.
Its hard work down the tunnel and jobs there are extremely sought after.
