    I am using CA ARCServe and it is asking for second tape on a full backup. I am using LTO-3 Ultrium 800GB 2:1 compression tapes. It stops and asks for second tape around 265GB mark. Any ideas why this would happen?

    Download the supplier diagnostics tools, in case of HP search for HP LTT.
    Insert a new tape.
    Run the diagnostic tool.
    You'll find that drive is having hardware errors !
