    This 'bioactivation' is supposed to work only on the fleas, not on the animal. You apply it on the dog's or cat's skin in the usual way, out of licking or easy scratching range, and it spreads through the natural oils; if a flea hops on, enzymes enter the flea and paralyse it, and it dies.
    Does it kill anything else? No, say the makers.
    But of course they told us neonicotinoids were safe too. Who knows?
