    Hi All
I am in a house with a firebird combi boiler. Hardwater area. Not sure of age of boiler possibly more than 8yrs old. It heats house water and underfloor heating. No holding tank. Lately the shower and bath upstairs (seperate units) have very poor temperature, luke warm showers. When filling bath for kids temp goes from luke warm to cold and back to luke warm. Need to add kettle of boiling water for baby bath. Kitchen tap downstairs has cold to really hot water working perfectly. All off same system. Any advice would be greatly appreciated regarding this?
    Thanks a million

Sounds like the boiler heat dhw heat exchanger is clogged with limescale.
A treatment system or Aquabion should be installed otherwise it will happen again & again.

Thanks shane for reply. Yeah thought it was something like that. Would it effect just upstairs and not kitchen tap?

If the kitchen tap is close, and with heat exchanger partially blocked, the volume of water will over heat then cool. The longer run bathroom shower & taps will dilute the heated water on the way to those, hence cooler.

Get your OFTEC service person to take out the heat exchanger & test. Just make sure they are used to working on oil combi's.
Or phone Brendan in Firebird Technical Department & he should give you the name of their service person for your area.
