Hi. I've been searching for a while for a good decent intervalometer to do some timelapse on my Canon 650D. Only problem is I can't find a well priced one to fit the connection of the 650D. It seems the model doesnt accept normal intervalometers. Grrrr.... any suggestions????

One of these maybe? Used it on my 400D quite a lot, and it's cousin on my 7D. Cheap and cheerful.

Just be careful installing software because it could negate your warranty.

M5 sometimes they advertise that it works on the 650D but in the smaller print specifications it doesnt. I already purchased something on amazon that claimed to be for 650d but when it arrived it didn't work.

Anyways it does look like the right size so I'll give it a go. Heck for 10 quid.

Magic Lantern scares me. Especially as the firmware isn't 100% with 650d model yet. Should I be concerned or is it all a little over worrying nonsense???

Well I don't have the 650 so I can't comment on that. If they're saying it's not 100%, leave it for now.

However, when it's good to go, get it and don't worry about the disclaimers. It's brilliant. It doesn't replace your original canon software, it adds a host of useful functionality and is dead easy to install/use.

Supposedly it does not. Two friends installed it on their Canons and claimed they did the research.

According to canon it does not but damage due to the 3rd part software is not covered.
“There is no such thing as “voiding” the Canon warranty, there are simply repairs that are covered, and those that are not.
For instance, the repairs for a failure of the buttons on the back of the camera within the warranty period, on a camera that does not show any evidence of mishandling or misuse, would likely be covered.

Repairs for a camera that is “bricked” or otherwise having issues directly related to using a third party firmware would not be covered.”
