    Hi All,

My Dad owns a Ford Focus CC 2.0 petrol engine (2008)

Tried to start it today and it just cranked, soon after we checked the oil with dipstick and it was bone dry, never seen any leaks and oil light on.

I checked exhaust and there is alot of black oil in the exhaust pipe.

My dad gone to buy some oil for it before we start it again, but any idea what the problem could be?

    cheers.

Could be several things, none of which are very good/cheap to fix. Did you notice it smoking or running strangely before this happened?

no one running absolutely fine, was also running fine this morning when i moved it, went to move it just before and it wouldn't start.

You'll need to get it to a garage, oil in the ehxaust means something is gone badly wrong, like the head gasket is gone, or worse the block is cracked. It's strange that it was running fine this morning, I would have thought it would be overheating for this to happen. Is there coolant in the reservoir?

BTW I'm not a mechanic, so don;t take anything I say as gospel, in this case hopefully I'm totally wrong.
