So what little jobs did ye lot get done today around the yards that you couldnt do with the fine weather. I managed to fix a welder (at last) and the power washer and since the washer was out i treated the tractor to an auld wash. Even treated herself to an evening at the cinema :D:D

spent the day making up a new calf creep area/calf handling area. it should work a treat.. i'll have to get another day to finish it. Theres always a never ending list of stuff to be done at this time of year in preparation for the winter.

looks good chippy, the woodwork still stands to you! Is the blue sheeting stockboard?

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

No they are insulated steel panels that were used in sections of curtain walling that i was replacing. whatever sort of steel is on the blue side its an absolute b*tch to drill. They are all powder coated too so should be easy for cleaning. Expect to see a whole lot more of them in my little projects. Im putting the smaller ones in as base boards on feed barriers and ive a couple of doors to throw together aswell. im putting up a concrete meal bin and lining the insides with them aswell so, lots to do when things are wet.

I got the sheep dosed for fluke, got the straw home and put away in shed. I was happy with that. Time to watch the match today.

God if that creep isn't full of nice happy calves you can throw your hat at it. It should be super cosy for them. How do you plan to clean it out? Is that sheeted barrier fully bolted to wall or hinged somewhere

Nice work chippy, some thought gone into that

I usually spend most wet days doing jobs that take twice as long to do, that should have being done on a dry day.

The old saying was - what you got done on the wet days determines how much you get done on a dry day. pretty true

Theres 2 creep doors and i am going to cut a larger door out of the back wall. cleaning will be a bit of work.
I'm hoping to make up for it with the time i'll save with dehorning, ive a dividing gate going inside that will be worked into the crate so vaccinating and dehorning should be safer and faster.
Its not stockboard, they are steel panels i have recycled from a curtain walling job. they are 1" thick with serious steel in them. i have a load of uses for them now round the yard.
