Sound delay problem with Toshiba RGV635

    Folks,

MISPRINT IN Thread Title TV is Toshiba Regza RV635

An issue has developed with my 3 year old 37" toshiba. When selecting a saorview channel there is a delay on the sound coming on of about 5-6 seconds, the picture is instant, and then it is out of sync. Eventually I think the sync goes ok ,but not for at least 10 minutes. Two other saorview TV's work fine no issues.

The sky signal coming through the same high quality cable works fine and when you select the analogue channel to watch sky on, the sound is instant. Same with the humax box connected by HDMI under the TV.

I have upgraded the firmware, which fixed a time/date problem on the MHEG text, but no joy with this sound problem. Have reset the tv, rescanned the channels etc.

In fairness the shop where I got the TV are going to look at it despite there being only a one year guarantee, and do all possible to sort it out.

In advance of doing that though I said I'd see if anyone has any suggestions as to cause of the problem

    thanks

FYI, This problem is sorted. Apparently there were problems with the saorview signal in some areas over a 3/4 day period including the weekend. This resulted in syncing difficulties between sound and picture.

Apparently it was not as noticeable on saorview approved equipment but more so on pre-saorview produced tv's with mpeg4 and mheg5 installed. My tv comes into that category.

It is now working better than ever.

This information was provided to me by the shop in Limerick where I originally got the set.

Was a huge problem in Limerick last weekend from friday to monday which rte denied...took both myself and another installer lenghty complaints and being passed from department to department to get this issue resolved.

The Toshiba tv you are talking about is Saorview compliant, Rte had removed one of the Radio stations from the list lineup from Woodcock hill and made some other uncommunicated changes as well to us.

A complete disgrace that these problems are continuosly happening in Limerick particulary during live feeds and matches etc....

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

    is it resolved??

i posted in another thread about picture freezing and lip sync issues with saorview thinking it was my sat reciever fault, but it could be this after all
