I have looked on a lot of price comparison sites for cheaper gtx 660ti.price on hvs is good as gets unfortunately with postage from another site you would end up paying more.

Frankly 660ti in sli is still the best value per performance at current prices. Going up to 760 would cost you 50 more and be pointless.

Look at it this way the 2 660ti you are getting although unlucky 40 euro more than kev because of timing still equate to the power of a graphics card costing 900 euro.

You could wait to see if it drops but you then run the risk of other parts CPU power supply or ssd going up. As they do go up and Down quite a bit.

Realise this is not helpful , but just clarifying for you. Wait and see if anyone else got ideas.

Thanks Archer. I don't mind the cost for the graphics card so long as there isn't a superior one for around the same price. As I said, up until now I've bought Dell PCs, so I'm getting a much better deal anyway.

Does anything else stand out-- X being incompatible with Y?

I'll get a monitor and OS separately.

You can save € 20 by going for the non K chip, if u are sure you're not planning on overclocking. You could also go for the non K haswell chip and motherboard.

For the same money as the sli 660ti's you could get a single gtx 770, this is a great graphics card. In the future when the 800 series is released you can always pick up another one when the price is reduced.

Ah I see now there's a difference between mine and KevinOk1's build, in that he'd be willing to overclock. Choices were probably made based on that.

It seems worthwhile to have the option of overclocking down the road. Should I then consider getting the i5-4670K (http://www.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=78027&agid=2211) instead of the i5-3570K? Would that need other parts (Motherboard etc.)?

I'll have a think about the graphics card. Thanks for the options.

He wanted similar spec pc as used in another tread. Which was built with gaming at 1440p in mind. 2 660ti in sli will run games better than 1 gtx 770 at 1440p. Why wait around to get another 770? Technology evolves.

With 2 660ti giving a titan card like performance he will not need to upgrade for a few years and by the time he actually needs too. the cards available then will make 770s look severely outdated also.

This is coming from a gtx 770 owner.

Dice you already had chosen an overclock CPU. Any CPU with a k after the number means it has the ability to overclock.

Yeah, I have since noticed that. Seems worth paying the small price difference for the ability down the road.

All the parts you have selected support overclocking so yeah the option is there. And yes worth the extra few quid.

Just have a think about the graphics card situation . What games you playing?

Say Rome 2, Skyrim, Fallout. That type of thing. I think I'd prefer the better performance right away as I don't follow graphics card trends. It's unlikely I'll be watching to get a great deal. Plus there's the redundancy of having 2 cards: if one breaks there's just one to replace.

Nice game choices love fallout , looking forward to 4 , and the total war series cool minus empire.

hell Rome 2 on one 660 ti will look sweet enough never mind when you rocking the 2. Is that your hurry for the pc haha?

Rome will be grand on a 660ti. It's optimised for 2 cores AFAIK.

Haha, perhaps, but with my own PC I haven't been able to run a total war smoothly since poor old Empire TW. I'm hoping whatever I get will get me through another couple of Bethesda and Creative Assembly titles.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'll likely order soon.
