I have a Sky+HD box and is giving us nothing but trouble.
I need to replace it but Sky won't do it as I'm out of the 12 month contract.
So, how much will a new one cost me, how do I order one and is there s way to get Sky to pay for it?

You could ring them up and tell them your going to cancel your service as the box you have keeps breaking down, and your not willing to pay for a service that's not working properly. They will most likely offer you a new deal.

You could just cancel the service, and start up again as a new customer under a new name.

You could just buy a second-hand HD box, install it yourself, and then ring sky and ask them to pair your card to the new box.

Got a replacement box for a tenner and a new deal of €21 pm for the base package. We told them that we wanted to cancel as the price was too high and also the box was faulty. Got the new deal agreed first then said that'll be great but the box is faulty.... ;)

The engineer will want to take the existing box off you. Luckily for us we had an old Sky+ box and surprisingly he was happy to take that. (Just in case you have one...)

Recently had the same problem, in the last 2 weeks. Kept getting Error 25 (certain stations gone) and 29 problems (everything gone).

I rang Sky, explained that they could fix it for free or I would cancel and just use my non-Sky internet to stream everything I wanted to watch.

Help desk weren't much use, passed around 2-3 times. Next person i talked i stopped them in there tracks and explained they either fix it or send me to cancellations. Guy in cancellations straight away offered to fix it for free.

Engineer was out a few days later and it only turned out to be the LNB connection in the dish. he also said it was a very common problem and they were replacing a lot of these.
