I've a cow that's taken a liking to chewing all things metal, strands of electric wire (when they're turned off), rusted galvanise etc. Could this indicate a deficiency of sorts? Or is she just being a complete cow.

Dunno, but she should weigh well at the mart when you sell here!

A bucket of mineral mix won't do her anyharm to lick it.

I gave her one of those Econo-Mag buckets from the co-op but it hasn't seemed to have eased it. She even went rampaging this evening, left the herd and her calf, and eventually she found some metal in a hedge to eat. I'm wondering if it's a phosphorus deficiency, I've heard that makes them chew anything they can find

Id say a call to the vet Monday would be the right thing to do.

Your Robo cow is not suffering from Phos. They eat stones when showing signs.

A good mineral would fix and besides we're heading into Tetney weather.

Any recommendations for a good mineral block? The one I got didn't seem to do any good.
