Had a look at them the other day and found Newstalk got a lot of nominations there. Doesn't suprise me though to be honest. Kerry and iradio got a good few nominations this year too.

So, no nominations for Ronan Collins or Marty Whelan then?

The PPI Awards are a bit like the giveaways on The Late Late Show - there's usually one for everybody in the audience.

Doesn't mean you'll be shortlisted. Definitely doesn't mean you'll win.

    Hefty fee per submission though...

I agree. I always saw it more as a publicity stunt for the PPI and stations (advertising sales) than anything else.

I suppose its sort of like the IFTA but for radio and far from popular.

I was reading a commentry fro PPI regarding 98FM as music station of the year, they said they "know their audience". To me that couldn't be further from the truth, 98Fm has been all over the place and this is reflected in their all time low ratings, how could the PPI come to such a conclusion? Do they not look at other evidence other then the entry which can be fashioned to portray a cohesive station with a clear strategy.
