    Evening folks,

One of my colleague's at work has a 146 and the clutch pedal has gone dead and I am assuming its the slave cylinder I have been asked to source the parts but just wanted to know roughly how much would it cost to get the part fitted also could anyone recommend a decent mechanic in the swords area?

    Cheers.

No idea how much it would cost, but I'd happily recommend my mechanic in Swords who looked after my 156 and has done major work on my GTV

He hates alfas, does work based on if he likes you as a customer, has a great relationship with a few serious alfa mechanics, and overall is a great bloke.

If after all that you want his details, pm me.

    Brilliant recommendation !!!

You could try TI Autos in Cowper Street, just off the NCR at the Phoenix Park end. Chances are they would have the part in stock, as they stock quite a lot for Alfas.
They actually like Alfas, and usually treat everyone equally.

I would recommend telling your work mate to sort it themselves. Should the owner not be happy, who are they going to blame. Unless of course you're trying to get into their undies, in that case carry on....

As for the OP make sure you go check the whole system, make sure its not the clutch master cylinder

Ask for Gerry. Really sound guy. Until I met him I had dreamed of what circle of hell mechanics would end up in. Don't have a good history with them in general.

TI Autos specialise in Alfas. Small enough operation. But don't let that put you off.

Just don't bring it into them early next week. I'll be dropping mine in on Monday! :P

Another option is don baker in Enfield.

Cheers for the replies folks, I have set the expectations for herself as she was telling me she went to one of the usual tyre exhaust places and rather than diagnosing the issue they recommended she took it for the nct and come back with the report
Have yet to ask her what the story is with the brake fluid as usual symptom is apparently fluid leaking from the cylinder.
So I have advised her I'm only the parts guy and I would help her as best I can so ill be passing on the above info.
